I've enjoyed lots of fanfiction during the last six years since a friend clued me in to its existence. I've sent a few private emails to bards during that time, but this story is the only one that has prompted public words.

I started reading it, filled with curiosity and hope that the author was talented. I read more, engrossed in the plot possibilities. I continued to read, sinking into dread and could not move away. Then I finished the piece and just sat, staring at the screen.

This is the second in a series where Magdon is retelling some classic fairy tales. The first one, The Second Sister, was an imaginative spin of the Cinderella story and I definitely liked the creative twists that she took. Wolf's Eyes takes a character from the first story and sends her off to grandmother's house in an interesting revision of Little Red Riding Hood. There are elements of the old stories that are woven in quite nicely in these re-imagined tellings. I've always had a fascination with folklore, myths and fairy tales, so this series intrigues me.
