I've been reading this book again lately and I was hooked. Just like the first time when I couldn't stop reading and finished it in one weekend. There are some many twists and turns that you will think "oh, i figured it out" more than once just to read you're totally wrong on the next page. This piece is masterfully done. Each character has depth but does not inapropriately cross over the boundries created by the first person narrative. I was moved by this piece and only sorry that it was over when it was done. The mystery unfolds with the reader sometimes a half a step ahead of the narrator, and somehow that's just enough to prepare us to survive the whirlwind. This is an amazing novella that I have read at least 4 times now. Surprisingly enough I still find myself reading until the wee hours of the morning because I can't to put it down. I definite must read!
I wish the author would share some more of her works with us. I guess in the mean time we'll just have to keep re-reading the masterpieces that she has graced us with.
